影集「實習醫生」某一集的旁白。



There’s an old proverb that says you can’t choose your family.



You take what the fates hand you …
And like them or not,
Love them or not,
Understand them or not …

You cope.




Then there’s the school of thought that says
the family you’re born into is simply a starting point.

They feed you, and clothe you, and take care of you
until you're ready to go out into the world.

And find your tribe.


上面最後三行，讓我想到主持人于美人曾經說過的：「所有的愛都是佔有，只有母愛不是。」從懷孕開始，到小孩長大，母愛都是一直選擇放手。但身邊很多的媽媽，甚至是爸爸都不是如此。

我媽總是愛跟我說：「等妳以後有小孩就會瞭解我們做父母的心情。」我沒否定她說的，但我很清楚只有放手，小孩才有機會學習成長。


人永遠不會長大，但成長的空間卻是無限大。
