Teacher, 為什麼你不教我們了？－thinking out loud

星期六有事回兒美一趟，
沒想到遇到以前教過的學生...

ss: Teacher, 你回來囉？
me: 沒啊！
ss: 那你什麼時候要回來？
me: ㄝ... 沒這打算耶！
ss: 是喔... Teacher, 為什麼你不教我們了？

為什麼不教了？官方說法是「因為我翻不出新招教你們」、「環境越來越鳥」等，
但真正的原因是，我覺得我在扼殺你們的創造力，在抹滅你們「個人」(individuality)！

尤其是當我在改你們作業時，

我不懂為什麼我看到你們寫出右邊的小寫 g 時，我要拿紅筆圈起來，
要求你們「一定」得寫的像左邊那個 g ？

我不懂為什麼我看到你們寫 i 跟 j 上面是「一撇」時，我要拿紅筆圈起來，
要求你們得寫「一點」？

我不懂為什麼右邊大寫 R 跟小寫 k 不行？
我更不懂為什麼我「非得」要求你們 a 寫的像最左邊那個？？
這個「a」也是 A 啊，為什麼不行？？？

要求你們把英文字母寫的像範例一樣，不代表你們的英文就會學好啊！
就像寫書法，你可以摹臨蘇東坡的書帖，但不代表你擁有蘇東坡的文采。

中國有項古老的算命方式，那就是「測字」。
有些人覺得那是無稽之談，嗤之以鼻，
但西方科學家研究發現，一個人的字跡，
可以看出一個人的個性，而人的個性影響一個人的未來。

Your handwriting represents your individuality, and even your creativity!
It is special and unique.

As a teacher, I expected myself to be the one who could
inspire a student rather than wipe a student out!

One day, I found out that I erased and rewrote a word when I
took notes in class because the R was not like the left one in the picture above... I was SHOCKED!!!

Erasing and rewriting an "R"?!
Yeah, there was much time for me to take notes!

It is alright to erase and rewrite because of wrong spelling or incorrect grammar, but because of a different type of fonts?
Give me a break!

Under the environment of that cram school, I couldn't be the one whom I expected to be. I, however, simply couldn't stand my self being an asshole
who forced kids to be copycats; therefore, I quit.
